Oyiri Nna Yaa - September 19, 2024

8 Nollywood Actresses to Watch Out for in 2024. Gone are the days when every Nigerian would kill a fly just to watch their favourite nollywood actresses like Funke Akindele, Chioma Akpotha, Patience Ozokwo, Ngozi Nwosu, Genevieve Nnaji, Mercy Johnson Okojie, and so on.

Now there are stars to watch out for. While we won’t overlook the previously mentioned actresses, I believe their time is drawing to a close, and these emerging Nollywood actresses are poised to take their place. So I encourage you to create a “Watch out for this star” list sooner than you expected.

Uzoamaka Aninoh

Uzoamaka Aniunoh is an actor and writer hanging out in the bustling city of Lagos, Nigeria, probably trying to find the best jollof rice in town! She had us all gasping in awe with her performances in several standout films and television shows like MTV Shuga, Diiche on Showmax, and Africa Magic Riona.

Elma Mbadiwe

Elma Mbadiwe barged into my brain like that one friend who shows up uninvited to a surprise party after I caught a glimpse of her in the film Without You. Following that on, I spotted her in Ndani TV’s  Rumour Has It, and Rattlesnake: The Ahanna Story, and I couldn’t help but think, “Alright, someone’s really cranking out the work rate!”

Her performance as Carmen in Netflix’s first Nigerian young adult series, Far From Home, was so impressive that I almost took a tumble off my chair—a must-add to my list of rising stars!

If you found yourself utterly dazzled and can’t resist wanting more of her, check out these films she’s graced with her presence!

She became well-known worldwide after getting a role in the Netflix Original Drama Series, Far From Home, where she portrayed the character Nnenna.
