The title of the movie is Oloture, directed by Kenneth Gyang it was written by Craig Freimond, Yinka Ogun, the genre of the movie centers around Crime, Drama, Thriller, it was released on October 2, 2020
the official language used in the movie is English and a mixture of Yoruba.

Plot Summary

“Oloture” is a gripping and intense Nigerian drama that shines a stark light on the pervasive issue of human trafficking. The story follows a young, naive Nigerian journalist named Oloture (played by Sharon Ooja) who goes undercover to expose the brutal world of sex trafficking. Posing as a prostitute, Oloture infiltrates a Lagos-based trafficking ring. As she delves deeper, she finds herself entangled in a dangerous web, confronting the harsh realities and unimaginable horrors faced by victims of this illicit trade.

The Key Characters

Oloture (Sharon Ooja) a brave journalist posing as a prostitute, Blessing (Omowumi Dada) a fellow sex worker and ally, Madam (Omoni Oboli) the ruthless trafficker.

The Movie

Sharon Ooja delivers a powerful and convincing performance as Oloture, portraying her character’s transformation from a determined journalist to a vulnerable woman confronting unthinkable horrors. Omowumi Dada and Beverly Osu provide strong supporting roles, adding layers of emotion and complexity to the story. Omoni Oboli’s portrayal of Madam is chilling and authoritative, serving as a stark reminder of the predators lurking in the shadows.

The film’s realistic portrayal of human trafficking and its impact is both informative and heart-wrenching. Strong acting by the cast, especially Sharon Ooja, anchors the emotional gravity of the film. Effective use of visual storytelling enhances the film’s gritty and somber mood.

Although some scenes felt slow, potentially affecting the narrative flow. The tough subject matter might be too much for some viewers, making it less appealing to a wider audience. Apart from this I see an absolute amazing movie.

Conclusion

“Oloture” is a strong and important film about human trafficking. It has great acting and visuals, making it a must-watch for those who like powerful stories about real issues.
